Software Companies in Mangalore: A 2026 Guide

By LPOINT · 8 November 2026 · 6 min read

Mangalore (Mangaluru) has quietly become one of Karnataka's main tech hubs outside Bengaluru. Engineering colleges across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi produce thousands of graduates every year, and the city now has everything from large IT campuses to small product teams and local software agencies.

"Software companies in Mangalore" means different things depending on who is asking. A final-year student wants to know who is hiring. A business owner wants to know who can build their website, app or ERP. This guide groups the companies by what they actually do, so you can find the right ones for your purpose.

Companies are listed in no particular order within each group. Descriptions are based on each company's own website or published news reports, checked in November 2026. LPOINT, which publishes this guide, is one of the companies listed. Know a company that should be here? Tell us.

1. Large IT employers

These are the big names most students mean when they say "IT companies in Mangalore". They hire freshers in large numbers and mostly serve overseas enterprise clients, so they are the right place to look for a job rather than for a vendor for a local business.

2. Product and technology companies

Companies that build their own products or specialised platforms from Mangalore. Good employers for engineers who want product experience.

3. Custom software, website and AI companies

Firms that build software, websites and AI systems for other businesses. This is the group to compare if you need software built.

Looking for a job or for a vendor? Start in different places

• Students and freshers: the large IT employers hire in volume through campus drives, while product and smaller companies give you broader hands-on work early. An internship at a local company is often the quickest way to build a portfolio. See our internship in Mangalore page or the guide to choosing an AI course or internship.
• Businesses: large IT companies rarely take on small local projects. Compare two or three custom software or website companies, and use our checklist for choosing a software company in Mangalore before you sign.

How to compare software companies in Mangalore

1. Live work, not screenshots. Ask for links to systems that are running today.
2. Meet the builders. Talk to the developer or team lead who will work on your project, not only the salesperson.
3. Written scope and fixed price. Compare quotes line by line; the cheaper one usually leaves something out.
4. Ownership. The source code, domain and hosting should be in your name once you pay.
5. Support after launch. Ask what changes cost and how fast urgent bugs are fixed.
6. Real reviews. Check Google reviews and ask for a client you can call.

If you are also budgeting for a website, our guide to website cost in Mangalore shows typical price ranges.
